About the show
Two friends. One garage. Real talk about love.
Making Space for Love is a podcast about the relationship you have with yourself, and how it shapes every relationship you'll ever have. No tactics. No formula. Just two friends of more than twenty years having the conversations most of us, especially men, were never taught to have.

How it started
It started with a phone call.
Joey was driving home from a breakup that pulled every old wound back up through the floor. He called Graham, his friend of more than twenty years.
Graham told him the same thing he tells players before the biggest moments of their lives. Breathe. Be with it. And tell yourself, over and over: I love myself unconditionally. That's the fight. That's the whole fight.
They met in 2002. Joey was training as a competitive swimmer, and Graham worked at the gym where he lifted. They got to talking one afternoon and never really stopped. Over the next twenty years they traveled the world together and ran basketball camps across the Caribbean.
For decades, the athletes Graham coached kept telling him the same thing: this is helping my relationships even more than my game. So the two of them started talking about it in Graham's garage. A heavy bag in the corner, a keyboard on the wall, and the conversations most of us were never taught to have.
Not performance training disguised as love. Just love.
The hosts
Meet Joey & Graham
Joey Hamilton
Co-host · Brand marketing strategist · Photographer
Joey Hamilton is a brand marketing strategist, former D1 swimmer, international-level coach, and father of three. Adopted after seven months in foster care, he learned early to read every room and show whichever version of himself kept the peace.
He spent forty years trying to earn a love he was always worthy of. His own. Now he's doing the work in real time, out loud, and he wants you to stop sooner than he did.
"I was forty-something years old when I realized I had been holding my breath my entire adult life."
Graham Betchart
Co-host · Mental performance coach
Graham's parents separated when he was three or four, and something in him decided he would figure out how to do love differently. In college, a counselor gave him six words that changed his life: I love myself unconditionally.
He built a career on those words, spending nearly three decades helping NBA champions, Olympians, and the U.S. Navy stay present under pressure. His message is always the same: win the fight inside first.
"If you can't love yourself unconditionally, no amount of winning will give you peace."
What we stand for
Five beliefs
Self-Love
Love all of you. The relationship with yourself shapes every other one.
Vulnerability
Victory goes to the vulnerable. Openness is the courage connection requires.
Space
Step back. Make space. Love can only land where there's room for it.
Practice
Love is a skill. Nobody is born knowing how, and anybody can learn.
Wholeness
Stay you. Healthy love is two whole people choosing each other.
Victory goes to the vulnerable.
The real victory isn't a trophy. It's staying open, present, and loving, especially when it's uncomfortable.
